Eric & Cherice {married}

When we first met with Eric & Cherice we had no idea what all their wedding day would hold – they described how their reception was on family property and that it had been a little crazy between school (for Cherice), work, planning a wedding two states away and experiencing  several significant losses of loved ones. They are both modest individuals who are incredibly warm and focused on the people around them. As bits and pieces of their plans came together, culminating in a truly incredible wedding day, we felt honored to be a part in their celebration and so thankful to witness such deep joy after so much loss. Their wedding day began with storms but just after the ceremony the skies parted and the sun came bursting through.

Cherice was surrounded by her family and close friends and even more laughter as she excitedly prepared to walk down the aisle. She lovingly donned her grandmother’s pearls and shared how her antique wedding ring was from Eric’s grandmother. Eric loves hunting and fishing and his groomsmen wore camouflage  print vests under their tuxes. Cherice had a special gift customized for her outdoor loving groom.flowers shoesrings church bridalprep sisters eric1Eric is calm and steady, his love for Cherice seems to match his character stride for stride!  It was written all over his face when he saw his lovely bride for the first time as she walked down the aisle on her father’s arm. Cherice couldn’t contain her happiness and I think it was the most laughter we’ve ever heard during a wedding ceremony! Their personal vows were beautiful and full of emotion. Eric even surprised Cherice with a custom made wedding band that matches her antique engagement ring during the ceremony. bridecoming firstlook altar firstkis bubblesThe wedding party walked across the street from the chapel to catch a few photos together before we made our way to their out door reception, the clouds continued to clear and every minute was better than the one before.maids groomsmen partay2 gmen2 partay eric2 bride3 maids2 bride2 maids3 eric3 bride4 bride1Before we made it to the reception, Eric & Cherice asked if we could stop at the local pub – it was a pretty tight squeeze but fun to watch the wedding party enjoy a few unscripted moments before continuing on to the reception. rowdiesAfter a short drive and a long, winding driveway we pulled up to an enormous white tent, just as the sun was starting to set; music and laughter flowed greeting us as soon as we were out of the car. A small stream and tiny foot bridge set with torches on either side waited outside the tent for us to explore with the couple. It was one of the most beautiful settings you could ask for as a photographer and all lovingly prepared by their family and friends the weeks prior to the wedding. couple4 couple3 couple2 couple serious beauty treelean snuggles laughs  gazing kisses noses rest golden looking sunsetbin cornbin2 walking signage prayer cake-thanks details dance tentatnightLight streamed out of the tent as we packed up for the evening, laughter followed us and we both felt so blessed to be a part of something so great. Eric & Cherice, thank you for reminding us of how strong we can be while hurt, how powerful love is and beauty of family – every aspect of your wedding day was filled with love and true friendship. We pray that love and ever deepening friendship surrounds you both for the rest of your very long and happy lives together. Congratulations!
